Middleton Moor - Peak District Walk
Wednesday 9th January 2008
This was the first time this year I woke to see blue sky on a day when I could escape, all be it briefly, for a walk. As the forecast was for rain to be moving in around lunch time I opted for a walk close to home. For Christmas I had been given a wide-angle lens for my camera that I was keen to try out so I wanted to be sure that I has some good views and so I headed to Middleton Moor.
Start: Middleton Top (SK 2752 5516)
Route: Middleton Top - Middleton Moor - Middleton Top
Distance: 2 miles Ascent: 54 metres Time Taken: 50 mins
Terrain: Good paths.
Weather: Very cold and clear.

On approaching the car park I was surprised to see that there was snow on the moor as we had had none at home.
Looking towards Bolehill, known locally as Black Rocks, with Crich Stand visible behind.
Trying out the new lens, here looking towards Riber Castle.
